Internship overview: The internship programme is a structured professional training and work experience programme with the goal of providing high quality training and practical exposure in all aspects of a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office which is governed by the Municipal Finance Management Act and the underlying reforms. The programme has a logical training sequence that builds on the skills and competencies acquired during university training. It ends where appropriate, with a qualification in Municipal finance Management which is in line with the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations. The programme is aimed at unemployed graduates.

Requirements: The applicant must be in possession of: a recognised B Degree or National Diploma in Records and Archives Management or equivalent. Extensive knowledge in records, archives management and facilities management in the public sector/Local Government is critical. The applicant must have operated on a supervisory capacity for a period of three to five years. A valid code 8 Drivers’ license.

Requirements: The applicant must be in possession of a bachelor’s degree or B-Tech degree in Auditing/Accounting. A minimum of 4 – 5 years relevant experience. Computer Literacy. Must be a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIASA). Knowledge of the international standards for professional practice of Internal Auditing. Understanding of the local government environment. A valid code 8 Drivers’ license.
